At Project Phoenix, we want to fundamentally re-define what it means to "take care" of veterans. In many ways, veterans of the United States military are some of the most self-sufficient people you could ever meet. They don't need "taken care" of, they need support and mentoring by people not looking to profit off of them and their situation. They need a supportive COMMUNITY of like minded people who are invested in their success!!!
Since there are currently no active, independently living communities exclusively dedicated to veterans, allowing veterans to support and encourage one another in the community in which they live, we at Project Phoenix will, with the support of our donors and sponsors will build one!!(and good Lord willing.... many more!!!)
Project Phoenix was founded by two veterans who aim to create that community, where their fellow veterans can find the necessary support and resources to thrive as they transition to civilian life. We recognize the unique challenges that veterans face when separating from the military and we are dedicated to helping them overcome these obstacles. And for the veterans who can't find it in themselves to re-join a civilian society that they no longer connect with or understand..... they can choose to stay and be apart of the Project Phoenix community. Our commitment includes providing the time and mentorship needed for veterans to complete this transition effectively, at their own pace, while ensuring they have access to essential veterans resources and to providing veterans who choose to stay and be a part of the Project Phoenix community the mentoring and support they need to be an active/engaged member in their new community.
